Take a look at this interesting article from MSNBC detailing 10 Hot Jobs for 2007. What I find particularly intriguing about this list is that blogging is listed as part of the 10th hot job. As the “blogosphere” continues to explode with new blogs everyday, it seems like everybody is trying to get in on this craze. This is definitely understandable, as it the biggest cost to starting and maintaining a blog is your time.

As I was browsing MSNBC today, I found this really interesting article from the Washington Post called Living Life at $7.25 an Hour. It’s a really interesting look at a small town, and how the proposed federal minimum wage increase from $5.15 to $7.25 would affect it. I found interesting because it presents views from both the employees and the owners, who obviously have some differing opinions on the matter.
I can see both sides, and in a lower income town such as the one in the article, a wage increase is almost like a catch-22. If you raise the wages, then the businesses suffer as they have to absorb more costs into an already thin profit model. On the other hand, many of the people of this town need all the help they can get.
A very interesting presentation of this problem, I highly recommend you read it.

Do you think you have the best boss around? On the other hand, does your boss run your office like prison? Let MSNBC know via the survey found here: Rate Your Boss. They’re going to release the results in March, and I’ll definitely be taking a look at the results. You hear people talking all the time about “My boss is this….” or “My boss did that….”, it’ll be interesting to see how this translates into numbers.

Check out this article on MSNBC about tips for avoiding air travel hassles. The author makes some pretty good points, I think two of the most important ones are Checking-In Online and Getting There Early.
Checking-in online is very easy to do even if you have bags to check. All you have to do is print out your boarding pass at home, and then check your bags curbside. This will save you tons of time during this busy travel season.
Getting to the airport early is also a must. Many people don’t think about this, but as the author points out airlines are allowed to overbook planes (and they do it all the time). Anytime you hear “this flight is full and we are looking for people to change flights”, that means the flight is overbooked. However, you can assure yourself a seat if you simply get to the airport early. I usually get there about two hours before take-off, and this has worked very well for me.
On your summer vacation, the last thing you want is to be stressed out right at the beginning. Take a look at the article and help reduce the chances of this happening to you.

Today’s Tip of the Day puts to rest the myth that small change is not worth keeping. Make every penny count!
Also, here are some interesting reads for you to take a look at:
- Why can’t the IRS make tax filing simpler? - Interesting read (tax season is still on my mind), MSNBC answers some reader questions about various tax topics.
- Problogger.net - Interested in starting your own blog and want to make some money along the way? This guy knows pretty much everything there is to know about the business, he actually does it for a living and makes six figures.
