At work this morning, my allergies were acting up so I decided to take some nose spray that I had at my desk. However, as I pulled it out of the box I read the side effect warnings for the first time. I could not believe some of the problems that were described. Allof them sounded worse than the actual problem I was taking the nose spray for. This led me to thinking: How often do we actually pay attention to side effects warnings?

We’ve all heard the saying that Vitamin C can help to cure your cold or flu. The question is how many of us actually listen to that advice? I was never a big believer in it until the other weekend when I came down with a cold. I couldn’t get to see the doctor until about a week later (which seems to always be the case), so I decided to try to drown my cold with orange juice. Lo and behold, a few days later I was feeling 100% better, and when I went to the doctor they gave me a clean bill of health. You might argue that the cold just ran its course, but I think the OJ played a big part in my recovery.
Also, for those of us who have to work when sick (this is probably 99.9999% of today’s workforce), there are Vitamin C hard candies. You can get them at your local drugstore, and their easy to carry around with you.
