Tip of the Day 5/31/06 - Avoid Air Travel Hassles
May 31st, 2006
Check out this article on MSNBC about tips for avoiding air travel hassles. The author makes some pretty good points, I think two of the most important ones are Checking-In Online and Getting There Early.
Checking-in online is very easy to do even if you have bags to check. All you have to do is print out your boarding pass at home, and then check your bags curbside. This will save you tons of time during this busy travel season.
Getting to the airport early is also a must. Many people don’t think about this, but as the author points out airlines are allowed to overbook planes (and they do it all the time). Anytime you hear “this flight is full and we are looking for people to change flights”, that means the flight is overbooked. However, you can assure yourself a seat if you simply get to the airport early. I usually get there about two hours before take-off, and this has worked very well for me.
On your summer vacation, the last thing you want is to be stressed out right at the beginning. Take a look at the article and help reduce the chances of this happening to you.
