Tip of the Day 5/20/06 - Beware The Tow Truck
May 20th, 2006
If you live in the city, this is a warning to you: Beware the Tow Truck! I know, I know, you’ve heard it all before. However, I’m sure it’s just gone in one ear and out the other, just like it did with me until last night. Here’s the deal: I went to Wendy’s to pick up some grub at about 10:00 PM. Usually, I would just go through the drive through, but lately they’ve been screwing up my order pretty bad (which happened anyway). Instead, I parked at the bank right next to it and walked in. I was gone about 10 minutes in total. When I walk out, my car is gone. Sure enough, it had been towed. I had to walk two miles to the tow truck place and pay $100 to get my car out.
What’s the lesson? Even if you park in tow-away zones everyday and haven’t gotten caught yet, you will. Trust me, take the extra few minutes and find a parking space, because you will get towed at the most inconvenient time (like when you’re holding a bag full of Wendy’s).
