At most workplaces today, each employee is required to have some kind of ID badge. Usually worn on a lanyard or clip, it has to be on your person at all times and can also be used to access certain areas of the office, or even provide access to the office itself. If you can’t guess from the title, I left my work badge at home today. Luckily it’s not a huge deal, but it also means I have to get my friend to let me into the bathroom, which is not the most fun of situations. This all came about because last night when I came home from work I didn’t put my badge in the usual place, which is next to my wallet and keys. Instead, for some strange reason, I just threw it on the table. This is why I forgot it.
The moral of the story? Put things like your badge, wallet, keys, etc. that you need to take to work in the same place each day and place them together. This way you won’t have to think about what you need to take to work in the morning and you’ll be much less likely to forget something.
