This is a new segment that I’ll be running from time to time which will highlight some the better posts stored in the Workplace Life archives.

Here are three posts that you should check out:

  1. How To Fail Successfully - Failing successfully? As crazy as it sounds, there is a right way and a wrong way to fail.

  2. Top 5 Resume Mistakes - The top five resume mistakes I’ve come across (and a bonus sixth one), a good read if you are currently polishing up your resume or writing one for the first time.

  3. What You Really Say At Work - There are two languages spoken at work: What you actually say, and what you mean to say. Here are a few translations for your reading pleasure.

  Lack of Updates

August 29th, 2006

As you may have noticed, the update frequency of this site has slipped quite a bit. This is due to a number of reasons, the main ones being that I am currently invested in several other internet ventures that are taking up a lot of my time. However, don’t worry, I’m not abandoning this site. On the contrary, I’m planning a complete overhaul of the layout and I am working towards getting back to daily updates.

Please hang in there and thanks for your continued support!

  First Google Paycheck!

July 25th, 2006

That’s right, after about four months of labor, I finally got my first paycheck from Google! It’s a pretty good feeling, and I encourage all of my fellow fledgling bloggers out there to tough out the hard times. It’s definitely worth it when you finally get that green.

  Out For The Weekend

July 7th, 2006

Yep, I’m out again this weekend, this time for a wedding besides my own. I’ll catch you guys on Monday, have a good weekend!

Happy 4th Of July!, Happy World Cup Day!

July 4th, 2006

Happy 4th of July everybody! For those of us in the US, today is a national holiday celebrating the birth of our nation. This also means picnics, fireworks, and most of us have the day off from work (mwhahahahaha). For our international audience, today is the semi-final game between Germany and Italy. Personally, I think the Germans are going to pull it out, and they are actually my pick to win the whole shebang.

So it looks like today is a party day no matter what country you live in, enjoy! (I know I will).

  How To Photograph Fireworks

July 3rd, 2006

Tomorrow is the Fourth of July, and this means that all around the US people will be celebrating and shooting off Fireworks. There will be some pretty intense firework displays going on, and millions of people will be attempting to photograph them. Unfortunately, this will mean blurry pictures taken in poor lighting for most.

However, it doesn’t have to be this way. The Digital Photography School has posted a great guide on how to photograph fireworks. Check it out, and maybe you’ll actually be able to keep the pictures you take this year instead of pretending your camera ran out of batteries.

  Just Married!

June 18th, 2006

As the headline states, I just got married yesterday! I apologize for the site not being updated for the last few days, but it got so crazy that I didn’t even have time to post an “away” message.

I should be back to full time posting on 6/26, you might see a random post here or there until then.

See you soon!

Commute to Work with a Folding Bike

June 2nd, 2006

MSNBC has an interesting article on A commuter’s secret weapon, a.k.a the Folding Bike. Basically, it’s a light-weight version of a regular bike that folds up for easy carrying and storage. It’s a very interesting concept, and as someone who lives in DC I can appreciate this kind of ingenuity.

However, without riding one myself, I can’t give a good opinion either way. Have you ever tried riding a Folding Bike? If so, drop me a line in this post or via the Contact Us page (seen in the sidebar) and let me know what you think.

Who knows, I may just end up buying one.

  eBay Revenge!

June 1st, 2006

Had to post this as I found it hilarious. Apparently, this guy sold a laptop on eBay that wasn’t even functional, and was fully intending on screwing the buyer. Unfortunately for him, he left his hard drive in the laptop UNFORMATTED, so all of his information was on there. The buyer put up a blog with some pretty crazy information from the hard drive, you can check it out here.

Apparently, what goes around actually does come around.

Thanks to LinkTipIdea for the heads up on this one.

Ad Strategy: What are your thoughts?

May 31st, 2006

Over the past few weeks I have been doing some drastic changes to the site, and along with this I have revamped the positioning of the ads. My question to you is this: Do you like the current placement of the ads? If not, what would you change about it? If you do, please let me know why.

You can leave a comment on this post or email me via the Contact Us page.

Thanks in advance for your input, it really helps me to build a better site.
