Here’s some interesting reading as you wake up with your morning coffee (or soda, whatever your poison of choice might be): How the Colossal Squid Was Caught. You’ve probably heard of this by now, but I found this story particularly interesting.
Interesting fact: The squid is 33 feet long and 990 pounds. I can’t even imagine seeing something that large come up near a boat, it must have seemed like something out of a monster movie. Also, I’m sure it couldn’t have smelled that great. Anyways, it’s a fantastic scientific specimen that is in demand by multiple parties, making the fisherman who found it one lucky man.
On a side note, the patent is pending on Squidtacular, so don’t get any ideas.

With the advent of streaming music and the multitude of convenient media devices such as the iPod, listening to music while working has become common place. I listen to music at work, and it’s great. However, there is one pet peeve that really bothers me: Getting my headphones all tangled up as I worked. Regardless of how careful I am, they always seem to end up with at least five knots in the cord. Luckily, Lifehacker has posted an article on How to keep your headphone wires from getting tangled..
Give it a shot, I’m going to try it this afternoon since once again, my headphone wires closely resemble some intricate sailing knot.
*Thanks to LinkTipIdea for the heads up.

There’s nothing worse than putting a great presentation together, then going to print it out and getting that deadly message Out of Toner. Another classic scenario is that you go to copy it and find that you’re all out of copy paper. Hopefully, you’re audience doesn’t mind sharing. The point is this: You can’t underestimate the importance of having office supplies in-stock and available. From toner to copy paper, there are tons of basic supplies that play a role in keeping the modern office up and running. However, it can be a real pain to go to the store and lug around all of the supplies you might need. That’s why online ordering of these supplies has become so popular. A great example of this is Supplies USA.

Internships have been traditionally perceived as learning experiences for students in the chosen field. However, they have also come to be required on your resume if you want a good job after college. Because of this, the competition for internships has become hotter than ever. Hot enough to even warrant students paying companies to place them in unpaid internships. Hard to believe, but true.
