No CD? No Jump Drive? No Problem.
Accessing your computer files has become easier than ever these days. It seems that anywhere you go, there is some tool or technology that will allow you to have instant access to all your files with little hassle. One such service that provides this kind of accessibility is provided by IBackup. I’ve written about these guys before for their file backup services, and I think they’ve hit the mark again with their online storage service.
Taking a look at their online storage features page, they provide a number of options for online storage. Here are a few that I found particularly interesting:
1.) ILite - This is a service that allows you to access your files through your Blackberry (better known as a “Crackberry”), or other PDA like devices. An interesting concept, this would be great if you’re in the middle of a meeting and you need to pull a file up quickly. No laptop? No problem.
2.) Sub-Accounts - This is where you can setup your account so multiple people can collaborate on a project at the same time. You can also specify different levels of access for different sub accounts. I’ve used a similar service in Microsoft Sharepoint, but I’d give this a shot as the performance of Sharepoint is pretty bad as you scale up the number of users.
3.) IDrive - Basically you setup another drive through IBackup that you can access just like your normal set of drives. Sounds great for having instant access to files you use all the time. Google has a similar feature through Gmail I think, but I haven’t tried that out yet.
These are just three of the available storage options that caught my eye, they have multiple other options that also look very useful. I suggest you take a look for yourself and see if you can leverage any of their services to make your job just that much easier.
