Reality Television. It seems like you can’t change the channel these days without running into a reality tv show. American Idol, Survivor, The Surreal Life, they run rampant on almost every channel. The problem is that only a handful of these shows are on a topic that I even remotely care about, making their existence more annoying than anything. However, by skipping the medium of television entirely, I’ve found a reality series that is both entertaining and on a subject that I’m very interested. This reality show is called RockStartup.

Each episode follows the everyday trials and tribulations of running the internet startup PayPerPost. I find this particularly interesting because I have a huge interest in entrepreneurs in general, and especially internet entrepreneurs. My favorite episode so far is Episode 10: Out of Site because it hits on a subject very close to my heart: Just barely making a deadline. While I always try to finish well before a deadline, sometimes it just comes down to the wire. In this episode, the development team has to have the site ready for an investor meeting. Of course, something happens right near the end (where it always happens), so the meeting is in jeopardy. I won’t spoil it for you, but I highly recommend you take a look at the video below:

I really liked this episode, and would like to see more “cliff hanger” situations. Not only because it’s entertaining, but because I’m in a similar industry and can really relate to it. Also, I like to see the technology behind the site as that’s another interest of mine.
