With the 2008 elections quickly approaching, it seems that you just can’t get away from the election coverage. Everywhere you go, you’ll hear something about the election. This includes your office. At the water cooler, right before a meeting, even just chatting in the hallway, the subject is bound to come up. The question is this: Should you discuss politics in the office? Based on my experience, the quick answer is a definite no. There are multiple reasons for this, but I’ll focus on the main one which is described below.

I wrote an earlier post about the new program I’m trying, PayPerPost (a blog marketing network), and they’ve just released a new feature which I think is pretty interesting. Basically, I can add a link at the end of any of my posts (sponsored and non-sponsored) that allows someone to review my post via PayPerPost. Once this person signs up, they get an immediate opportunity that allows them to review my post on their site and then they earn a commission. I earn the same commission once their post gets approved. I find this system particularly interesting because it means that you don’t necessarily have to take commission in order to make money via PayPerPost. Also, it builds links to your site which is a nice bonus feature.

Music can be a great way to keep focus on your work while still being entertained in the background. However, usually it isn’t a good idea to blast your favorite techno tune from your computer speakers, as I’m sure not everybody in your office appreciates your taste in music. The solution to this is simple: Streaming music through headphones. The program I use and recommend is LAUNCHcast from Yahoo!. There are a number of reasons for this, they are listed below:
